Location

Charleston Rowing Club is located at Palmetto Islands County Park in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
It is one of the finest rowing venues in the South East, where Horlbeck Creek branches off of the Wando River near the Boone Hall Plantation.

Here are directions
To reach Palmetto Islands County Park (http://www.ccprc.com/index.asp?nid=69), take Needlerush Parkway north from Long Point Road.

The entrance to the Park is about 1 mile from Long Point Road.

After you enter through the kiosk turn right; there will be a big meadow.

Keep going through the forest and you will pass three signs saying “Big Oak Shelter”, “Tall Pine Shelter”, and “Sweet Gum Shelter”.

Keep going through the forest until the road curves sharply to the left.

On the right handside of that curb you will see posts in the road and a sign saying “Service Road”.

Take note of that location as you continue on to park in the various parking spots.

Then return back to where the Service Road is and locate the asphalt path just to the left of the “Service Road” sign. This is where the path begins; take the right hand fork.

The sign there will say “Peninsula Center” and “Fishing Docks” to the right.

Follow the path all the way to the end; you will come out a large decked pavilion overlooking the creek.

To the left is the Boathouse; to the right is the restroom, and directly in front of you is the dock.

Now you are there and it was worth the walk!

Allow for 15 minutes from the time you enter the Park to get to the Boathouse.
